This is a random illustration I did today while bored and watching the YSL film which I really enjoyed. These are done from an editorial in Fucking Young magazine.
These are images of my recent work, the image to the right is a very simplistic theme board for my most recent collection. I was inspired heavily by modern architecture and the lines and layers within it. Then the three images below are me in one of the outfit from the collection.
Here are three images from a photoshoot my friend took of me recently in the jacket and t-shirt that I made for the Industrial Revolution project. I completely underestimated how much time the jacket would take to construct and finish but overall I'm really happy because these are the first garments I have ever made that I'm happy with.
All these images are from Fucking Young's website and I'm in love; they have a unique editorial approach to menswear with modern and unusual menswear designs that with help from creative photographers and fresh faced models create a new and exciting fashion vision.
For this Project I was inspired by deconstruction, I looked particularly at the work of Viktor and Rolf and Comme Des Garcons; this was the first project in over a year when I've designed womenswear and it was actually a welcome change (although its confirmed the fact that menswear is the path for me)
J W Anderson This is his 2014/15 Autumn Winter collection which I am in love with, these are some of my favorite trousers as I love the cut and length. I also adore the just of pattern in these designs as everyone knows I'm a sucker for a print. Also I'm seeing a pattern with the oversized overcoats for next season.
I love this collection, so much better than their last Spring/ Summer collection which I was really let down by; I found the whole cowboy thing a bit obvious and ugly. I love the colour pallet for this collection, black, duck egg blue and bright red. I love the oversized shapes especially as I bought myself a vintage oversized overcoat a few months ago. I also loved the whole presentation of the collection with the gelled wet hair and British shower at the end.
These are pictures from last summer, I was looking through pictures of summer as the weather has got unhumanly cold. I love this outfit and it was a cheap one. These Levi's although slightly on the small side were only £2.50 from a charity shop and so was the jacket. Then the lizard skin Doc Martins were in the Urban Outfitt
These are 2 of my final design ideas for the latest project I've done which was based on the Industrial Revolution (very loosely) and I looked at the insides of electrial devices and the print I designed from the inside of my old Blackberry. I'm really happy with these designs and how they came out. Then after I was looking through next seasons menswear collection and I can across Christopher Kane's collection and it looks like we had similar inspiration and colour pallet.
This is YSL SS 2014 Menswear collection and I do love the clothes, they really compliment the Womenswear collection for this season, but what realy struck me was how skinny these models are. I know the female models are always super skinny but these guys are really something scary. I really cant believe how thin they are or why a designer would want to show the clothes on these guys they look so ill. I rally just hope its not the new trend for the guys to be this thin its verging on physically repulsive.
